Vaping Glossary

Confused by vape jargon? Use our A-Z glossary to understand the terms used in the vaping world.

Coil (Atomizer): The heating element inside a vape tank or pod that vaporizes the e-liquid. Coils need to be replaced regularly.

Disposable Vape: A single-use device pre-filled with e-liquid and a pre-charged battery. Once empty, it is safely discarded.

DTL (Direct-to-Lung): A style of vaping where you inhale the vapor directly into your lungs, usually producing large clouds. Associated with Sub-Ohm vaping.

MTL (Mouth-to-Lung): A style of vaping similar to smoking a traditional cigarette. You draw the vapor into your mouth first, then inhale.

Nicotine Salt (Nic Salt): A form of nicotine that provides a much smoother throat hit and absorbs quickly into the bloodstream, ideal for higher strengths (10mg/20mg).

PG (Propylene Glycol): A thin base liquid used in e-liquids that carries flavor well and provides the "throat hit".

VG (Vegetable Glycerin): A thicker base liquid used in e-liquids that produces dense vapor clouds and adds a slight sweetness.

Sub-Ohm: Vaping with a coil resistance below 1.0 ohm. This requires more power and thicker (High VG) e-liquid, producing large clouds.
